How to do if the GSHP water flow switch cannot be turned on

GSHP means Ground Source Heat Pump, extracting heat from the ground by circulating fluid through buried pipes in horizontal trenches or vertical boreholes.  A well designed GSHP system provides the lowest running cost of any heating system – because it uses a small amount of electricity to transfer a large amount of naturally occurring heat from the ground into your building.


Recently, a user reported to us that in their project, the water flow switch of ground source heat pump could not be turn on, resulting in frequent start and stop of machine, and "pipe burst" of casing heat exchanger in the refrigeration or heating system. When our engineer arrived at the site and opened the ground source heat pump, they found that the target flow switch with low price and poor quality was used. The head of the water pump is only 5m H2O, so the pump head is basically all contributed to other parts, how to turn on the water flow switch?

The controller does not need to delay the water flow signal as long as 10-30 seconds like the target flow switch, so as to avoid the freezing damage of the heat exchanger caused by the delayed compressor stop when the water flow is insufficient.

3.When the water flow cannot reach the reset flow, it can not be started. It is convenient for the user to find out the problem of the external water system of the unit, and reduce the hidden trouble. When the system flow is lower than 50% of the rated flow (recommended value), cut off the main engine to prevent the freezing

4. The differential pressure type flow switch can not accurately control the flow change caused by scaling or fouling inside the heat exchanger. The higher limit set point can be used to precisely control the increase of the differential pressure of the heat exchanger caused by scaling or fouling and the actual flow is too small.
