How Air Differential Pressure Sensor works for HVAC system

Air Differential Pressure Switches or transmitter is designed for pressure, vacuum, and differential pressures. The dual scaled adjustment knob in inches water column and Pascals, allows changes to the switching pressure to be made without a pressure gag. This is a cheap and worthy products. It usually used with ovens, dryers, and HVAC systems, these switches detect small differences in pressure. When the differential pressure exceeds your setpoint, the switch is activated. Use them to automate controls or activate an alarm in your process.

HVAC system means Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, HVAC is the technology of indoor and vehicular environmental comfort. HVAC system design is a subdiscipline of mechanical engineering, based on the principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. Its goal is to provide thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality.

With the growing requirements of building maintenance, HVAC systems are no longer able to meet demand operating alone. Whether it is a commercial, retail or industrial building, pressure sensors play a significant role in monitoring the building for occupants’ safety and comfort. When integrated with pressure technology, HVAC systems can operate at optimum levels as well as improve building maintenance. Three ways this can be done are:

Optimizing Systems

Through measuring pressure and air flow of individual rooms, building owners can optimize heating, cooling, and air flow. By increasing the efficiency of the HVAC system, Differential Pressure Switches can reduce the buildings energy consumption and costs.  Detecting areas for maintenance can also reduce energy costs by preventing unnecessary energy loads from malfunctioning equipment. Pressure sensors can also ensure compliance with legal required standards.

Measuring Differential Pressure (Detecting Areas of Maintenance )

In a building, quality control is fundamental. Differential Pressure Switches closely monitor pressure changes and indicate if a predicament arises. Pressure drops across rooms or across a filter can alert service technicians for maintenance. Pressure transducers monitoring differential pressure in HVAC systems are especially important for critical applications such as stairwell pressurization, clogged filter detection or clean-rooms.

Improving Indoor Air Quality

Differential Pressure Switches will make HVAC systems more efficient by measuring air flow and pressure though a system for effective air distribution. Buildings require a certain amount of air flow depending on the building function and average number of occupants. For example since a mall has a large amount of traffic and people emitting CO2, pressure sensors ensure that a greater amount of airflow is getting pumped back into the building,  so individuals can breathe easily. Pressure sensors are especially beneficial in clean-rooms by assessing and monitoring air pressure, quality and ventilation; all important considerations in a clean-room environment.
